Storytelling Hook Generator for Restaurants
A storytelling hook is not a fond memory: it is a scene that starts and gets cut before the ending. This piece produces the map of scenes the house actually owns —who, doing what, at what hour—, the first line for each one, and the filter that removes the family story that would fit the restaurant next door just as well.
N5Complete system
Several chained pieces you install and operate over time, with their review cadence. It changes how the business runs, not one decision.

What it does and what you get
- Almost everyone tells the restaurant's story backwards: the year it opened, the dream, the recipe that came down through the family.
- That is not an opening, it is a prologue, and prologues get skipped — the owner tells it with a shaking voice while the other side has already moved on to the next video.
- What holds attention is a scene already in motion: someone with a name and a job, an action the camera can see, a specific hour.
- This piece breaks the house archive into scenes like that, writes the first line of each one for 3 seconds of voice, and runs them through a rough filter: if the restaurant on the corner could sign that line unchanged, it gets rewritten or filed.
What you end up with
The scene map with its subject, visible action, hour, the dish it lands on and the part of the promise it proves; one opening card per hook with the first line, the first frame, who appears on camera, the network, the commercial action and the 7-day metric; and the ownership filter, the list separating the scene only this house can tell from the one that would fit anybody, verdict alongside.

The owner asked this: «Sazón de Origen, contemporary Colombian cooking in Medellín: 2 sites, 6 years, 24 people, 48,000 COP average check. We started in 2020 as a neighbourhood fonda and the second site opened in 2024. I post on Instagram and WhatsApp; I sell dine-in, own delivery and one platform. Every time I tell the restaurant's story I end up with the same video: the grandmother, the love of cooking, the recipe we always used. I want story hooks that start inside a scene and end with full tables on Sunday at midday.»
| Scene | Subject | Visible action | Hour | Dish it lands on | Part of the promise it proves |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The fonda's stove is still lit | Marcela, cook since 2020 | Turns the knob on the stove brought from the old fonda | Tuesday, 6:20 a.m. | House platter | That the cooking here is home cooking, on the same fire |
| The pot moved by taxi | The two morning-shift cooks | Load the 40-litre pot into a taxi boot | A Monday in 2024, 5:00 a.m. | Three-meat sancocho | That the new site cooks with the same pot, not a copy |
| Sunday's sancocho runs out | Don Álvaro, waiter since year one | Wipes the sancocho off the board with his hand | Sunday, 1:10 p.m. | Three-meat sancocho | That it is cooked by the pot and it ends, like at home |
| The trout arrives before the team | Norberto, the Thursday supplier | Unloads crates against a door still shut | Thursday, 6:40 a.m. | Garlic trout | That the product comes in fresh every week |
How this map was read. The four scenes sit on the three dishes holding the sales mix. A lovely scene about a low-rotation dessert would have entertained without filling Sunday, which is the daypart the owner wants to move. Two candidates fell: «it all began with the family's love of cooking» —no subject, no action, no hour— and «6 years serving with passion», which is plaque language, not a scene. Hours and weights are illustrative; swap them for the real ones before shooting.
Card 1 · The stove from the fonda
| Field | Content |
|---|---|
| First line (0 to 3 seconds) | «This stove has been lit at 6:20 in the morning for 6 years.» |
| First frame | Marcela's hand turning the knob, kitchen still dark, no voice for the first second |
| Who appears | Marcela, morning-shift cook |
| Network | |
| Commercial action | Book weekday lunch over WhatsApp |
| 7-day metric | Written bookings for weekday lunch (target: 18) |
Card 2 · The pot that moved by taxi
| Field | Content |
|---|---|
| First line (0 to 3 seconds) | «When we opened the second site, the first thing into the taxi was a pot.» |
| First frame | Two cooks lifting the 40-litre pot, street door wide open |
| Who appears | The two morning-shift cooks |
| Commercial action | Sunday sancocho at the new site, table booked |
| 7-day metric | Sunday sancochos sold at site 2 (target: 55) |
Card 3 · Ten past one on a Sunday
| Field | Content |
|---|---|
| First line (0 to 3 seconds) | «Don Álvaro wipes the sancocho off the board at the same hour, every time.» |
| First frame | The hand wiping the word away, board half clean, dining-room noise behind |
| Who appears | Don Álvaro, waiter |
| Commercial action | Order the sancocho over WhatsApp before 12:00 |
| 7-day metric | Written orders before Sunday midday (target: 30) |
The three start differently on purpose: one from the object, one from the event, one from the person. Three openings cut to the same shape read like a template, and the template shows before the story does.
Illustrative example generated with a fictional restaurant. Not a promise of results, not a client case.
This is 2 of 3 parts. Behind the wall sits the **ownership filter**: the table pitting every first line against the question of whether another restaurant could sign it, the concrete detail anchoring it to this house —the object, the hour, the person—, the verdict of shoot, rewrite or file, and the finished rewrites of the lines saved by trading a feeling for a gesture the camera can see.

How to use it
Which of your data it uses
This assistant works with 14 of the 23 fields in «My Restaurant», among them Restaurant name, Cuisine or concept and City and country. It does not ask out of curiosity: these are what make the answer speak about YOUR scale instead of an industry average — the same calculation on a business of another size returns a number you cannot decide with. You fill them once and they apply across the library, so the second assistant you open already starts with them in place. Whatever you leave blank, the assistant asks for one thing at a time instead of inventing it, and says so before answering, so you know what it is working from.
Always up to date
Every assistant carries a visible version and date. When an AI changes how it works, the assistant's version goes up and you see what changed.
v1.0.02026-08-20Initial version. Born beside the curiosity hook and the problem-and-solution hook, taking the part both left out: the hook that neither hides nor names, but starts a scene. The defect Diego was after had a name: the owner opens with the year the place opened and with the grandmother, gets emotional, and on the other side nobody reaches second five. Hence a craft rule instead of a feeling —subject, visible action, hour— and hence the ownership filter applied BEFORE shooting: a line the neighbour could sign just as well marks nobody.Same method, another variant
Inside the app this is a single control: you press it and the assistant reframes itself, including the variants that don't appear here because they don't have their own page yet.
